About
Founded in 2020, the White Lake Area Climate Action Council has been actively engaging the community to promote education and advocacy focused on conserving the local environment, reducing carbon emissions, and collaborating on climate solutions that align with personal, local, and state goals.

Our major accomplishments include playing a pivotal role in passing the Climate Emergency Plans for Whitehall and Montague cities, maintaining annual recycling events, and offering quarterly educational sessions, among other initiatives.

Now, as a registered 501c3 organization, WLACAC can give and receive more donations than ever before, to empower climate advocacy and education!
Our Mission
To engage the White Lake Area community with education and advocacy to reduce carbon and greenhouse gasses with climate solutions that range from personal to state actions to achieve Net Zero.

Our Vision
To attain carbon neutrality, Net Zero, for Montague and Whitehall by 2035.
Our Values: C.U.R.E
Community: Residents, institutions, private and public sectors, and organizations, supporting climate action.
Urgency: Providing practical and clear solutions to address the climate crisis, with our Net Zero by 2035 goal.
Resiliency: Social and ecological systems that can adapt, recover, and thrive.
Equitable: Marginalized populations are disproportionately impacted by the climate crisis. We empower the White Lake Area with initiatives to mitigate these impacts towards a shared prosperity rooted in an environmental justice framework.

"Clean air and water, and a livable climate are inalienable human rights. And solving this crisis is not a question of politics. It is our moral obligation"- Leonardo DiCaprio
